It's nice and warm with a good watering, zucchini are waiting for you, we are making gratins, tzatziki or course, ratatouille. With fresh mackerel fisheries, it is delicious. Here is the recipe for zucchini gratin:

ingredients:

4 courgettes
1 whole egg
1 yogurt goat or sheep, or white cheese
1 cup couscous (180 ml)
Half feta cheese
2 cloves of garlic
basil
salt
pepper
Olive oil

Grate the zucchini, large grater. In a bowl, mix the grated zucchini, egg, yogurt, goat or sheep are easier to digest and yogurt gives a little acid taste, if you do not like, prefer white cheese. Add salt and pepper, chopped basil, chopped garlic, a little olive oil. Semolina couscous will absorb water from the zucchini.

Preheat your oven to 225 degrees celsius. In a baking dish coated with olive oil pour your preparation. Add half of your cubed feta, distributed throughout the dish by pressing a little each cube. Smooth all, we must  not see them and add a little olive oil on top. Bake in the oven 1/2 hour. It's ready. It is best cold, served with a tomato sauce and a green salad.

Bonjour Armelle,
Thank you for sharing the recipe, it will be delightful to try some famous French cooking in New Zealand! When I am next at the supermarket I will try to buy the ingredients. Sadly I am not sure where I can get goat or sheep yogurt, so white cheese may have to do, but I will see what I can find! I might also try an organic yogurt that is available here, it is nice and natural and not sweet.

Your paintings are lovely. The red in the first one "sings" beautifully!

Recently I enjoyed watching a documentary about Jean-Nicolas Gérard, a potter who is in France.
Do you know his work? Goldmark Gallery in England sell his work, and I found the documentary about him on the Goldmark website. It makes me want to throw away crystalline glazes and make large pots from earthenware clay, and fire them in the wood fired kiln!!

Nigella Stopit sends greetings, she would like the mackerel!

Best Wishes to you and Yves,
P, L, & NS

Bonjour Peter,

Oh, yes you can try the recipe with organic yogurt, we can find goat organic yogurt now at the supermarket here, at the beginning I used cow yogurt. I am happy to know you will try to cook my recipe :-) Hope you and Laura will enjoy it. If you don't find 'feta' which is a greek sheep cheese, you can try goat cheese.

Glad you like my red painting.

I didn't know Jean-Nicolas Gerard, I got it on Goldmark Gallery and I like it very much, as it is really fresh. Slipware is called 'terre vernissee' in France and is an old tradition in the south of France. In his work we can see the influence of both English slipware and japanese way of throwing, though.

I understand how you want to go back to earthenware and wood-firing, when seeing this kind of work. I recently saw a core an potter using slip, very nice work too.http://youtu.be/kU28xWupJIY

How I understand Nigella Stopit, curiously Miko is not so interested, he prefers the smell of lobster, and finaly don't want to eat. I think Chipie is so quick to eat, Miko needs time and loses.

Have a nice day
