A preview of some Indian ink on Chinese and Japanese paper that I will present on September 13 at The Gallery 'La Coulisse' Belle-ile. After a month of warm and sunny June, July is gloomy and gray, but the weekend of July 14th is full of tourists and within a month the island will be empty.
This winter I could see egrets in Ster-wen and in Sauzon harbor at low tide, they are beautiful in flight and move by hopping on algae, beak in the water to feed.
Crows are trying to attack small gulls at the moment and parents are fighting to protect them, fights and battles in the sky above the cliffs, white bird against black bird, awesome.
Zucchini are at their best this year, and tomatoes that will soon give good fruits, for two years mildew had won.

Bonjour Armelle,
With ink and paper you have captured the essence of sea, sky and a rocky coastline. It is amazing how much you have been able to convey with such simple means. Lovely work. :) Thank you for the exhibition preview!
I hope that the weather improves for the rest of July and that the tourists bring some much needed income to the island. I seem to remember that you have had two years of not very good summers before this one?
Glad that you have tomatoes and zucchini!
Best Wishes from all of us,
P, L, & NS
Bonjour Peter,
Compared to the great masters of Chinese painting, I am still a real beginner. Do you remember the 'Port Coton Needles' by Claude Monet? He was inspired by Japanese composition.
Thank you for your comment, I still have a lot to learn. I admire Bada Shanren, the monk painter, and Muqi who inspires Zen masters and was able to capture the essence of Tao.
Courgettes are giant this year, and we eat them in salad and fricassee, waiting for tomatoes to be red.
Best wishes to you all
